IRD Duhallow’s SAOI Network is currently participating in the LEADER funded
Memory through Media training project which aims to explore the themes of memory and reminiscence through film and online social media. In the first phase of the project the participants learned how to make a film from start to finish. To celebrate Bealtaine, the SAOI Network present some of the films they have created about milking ‘The Udder Way’, cutting turf and the traditional ‘box iron’. ‘Bealtaine’ is the Irish National Arts Festival celebrating creativity in older age. It takes place each May countrywide and is coordinated by Age & Opportunity - the national organisation working to promote greater participation by older people in society.
