Duhallow Sportive

The first Duhallow Sportive took place in 2014

In 2014, in conjunction with The Corkman, IRD Duhallow held the first Duhallow Sportive. The Duhallow Sportive is one of the seven legs of the Skoda Cycle Series. The series was officially launched by Minister of Tourism & Sport, Leo Varadkar.

For the second year running, IRD Duhallow were delighted to host the IRD Duhallow Sportive which took place on Saturday 25th July 2015. The race commenced from the James O’Keeffe Institute in Newmarket. While taking in the breathtaking scenery of the beautiful Duhallow region, cyclists had the opportunity to choose from 3 routes of 40km, 70km and 110km.

The routes were as follows:

Route 1: 40km Route:
Newmarket-Meelin-Freemount-Kanturk-Newmarket

Route 2: 70km Route:
Newmarket-Meelin-Freemount- Kanturk-Banteer-Rathcool-Boherbue-Newmarket

Route 3: 110km Route:
Newmarket-Meelin-Freemount-Kanturk-Banteer-Nadd-Millstreet-RathmoreKnocknagree-Ballydesmond-Newmarket
